The more or less deranged owner of a fleabag hotel somewhere in a hot and sticky Louisiana vents his personal frustrations by murdering individuals unlucky enough to knock at his front door. For optimal efficiency, he counts on his cherished pet: a gigantic crocodile that wallows in an adjoining pond. Two years after the shock waves triggered by the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Tobe Hooper was back with this oddball film, whose harsh flashy colours and seedy atmosphere plunge the audience into a rather unwholesome climate. The grotesque nature of some of the scenes only heighten the general atmosphere of rampant insanity. Genuine Grind house stuff! Film buffs will not fail to notice Freddy Kruger, already a ladies man. .
