In late 17th century England, Dr Gulliver realises his ambition to take part in an expedition to India. He leaves his village where he has been living a peaceful but very modest existence in the company of his fiancée Elisabeth. Washed overboard by a violent storm during the voyage, Gulliver awakens to find himself stranded on the beach of the mysterious island of Lilliput, ruled by a tiny people at war with their neighbours.
